Corporate Events (at the Met)
The feeling in the industry is that corporate events are the best because they are the easiest. The reason is that supposedly, the timelines are simpler and the guests are more relaxed (because no one wants to get rowdy with their coworkers).
We don’t really think that’s the case. To us, they are not cookie cutter. Every company carries their own unique cultural that we, as the event professionals, need to identify and cater to. For an appreciation dinner, some workplaces would appreciate a nice filet mignon with au gratin potatoes while others would genuinely prefer ribs, mac and cheese, and southern fried chicken. Both companies have the same budget, but what is preferred by their consistituents in terms of being catered to is completely different.
Not only do we uphold our standards of flawless planning (choosing the right background music, adjusting the floorplan to suit your needs, providing the highest quality of food, giving coaching to your speakers on how to use the mic so there’s no echo or screeching, etc), but we do our best to understand what each company really needs to make their event feel special and unique and make their guests feel understood, appreciated, and catered to.
